Firefox 10 now available for download [The Verge]
Mozilla is continuing its trend of quick releases it announced nine months ago. Since that time updates have been quickly rolled out bringing Mozilla from version 4 all the way to version 10, which was released on Tuesday.
Google has since adopted the quick release cycle as well and only waited 19 days between Chrome 17 beta and Chrome 18 dev.The latest version of Firefox does include an "Extended Support Release" for those who don't like to update their browser every few weeks (expect for security fixes and other necessary updates).
Other features of Firefox 10 include API for full web apps, anti-aliasing for WebGL, and a Forward button that only pops up when it has a function. That's not much, but considering its only been a few weeks since Firefox 9 you probably couldn't expect much more.
Firefox and Chrome have been fighting for the second place in the browser market (behind declining Internet Explorer). Recently Chrome overtook Firefox to take hold of that second slot, which Firefox held for many years.
