Oregon Puts iPad Voting on the Map [Mashable]
Election workers in the 1st Congressional District in Oregon are helping people who have trouble filling in traditional mail-in ballots by letting those citizens cast their vote via iPad.
The iPad screen displays the ballot and the voter simply touches the name of the candidate they'd like to vote for. It's still a little primitive -- the selection is then printed and placed in a ballot box (or mailed-in). But it's a start. The iPad screen can be adjusted for voters having trouble seeing the names and there's even a "sip-and-puff" device that can be attached to help those whose movements are limited.
iPad voting was tested in 2010, but this year's election was the first time the technology was used to cast ballots.
