Watch ESPN programming on iOS-based devices [CNET News]
Want to watch a ballgame without monopolizing the TV? ESPN was one of the first to jump on the online video bandwagon by launching ESPN360 (now ESPN3) way back in 2005. ESPN3 has, of course, evolved and developed over the years and a few other Internet-based offerings have been made available by the worldwide leader in sports, as well.
Now ESPN is offering a new type of streaming service in the form of an iOS app. The “WatchESPN” app allows customers to stream live programming from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and ESPN3 to and iOS device – iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
Currently the service is only being offered to customers of Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks and Verizon. Right now, only video and broadband customers of those providers are able to authenticate to use the app.
ESPN says that the first version of the app was not yet properly optimized for the iPad, but hoped that it would be better suited for the iPad with an update in the coming months. ESPN also hopes to make the app available to other devices and other providers in the future as well.

I've been beatin' this drum for awhile Mike, you guys were great about getting ESPN3(360) to us before most other providers... but so far nothing for other web portals like HBOGO.com and ESPNNetworks.com. Any chance those are in the works?
