Netflix has reached an agreement with two major movie studios, Twentieth Century Fox and Universal, but the news is not all good.
It’s clear through Netflix’s negotiations that they are putting the focus on their online streaming services. Almost all of the positives stemming from this agreement have to do with increased content being made available on Netflix’s “Watch Now” feature. Several popular television series and movies have been added to the Netflix streaming line-up. With Netflix being made available on more and more devices every day, including the iPad, this gives Netflix customers more content to watch on additional platforms.
The negatives – Netflix customers are going to have a longer wait for new releases. According to the new agreement, any new release from Twentieth Century Fox or Universal will have to wait 28 days before being made available to Netflix customers. Netflix has made similar deals in the past, including a deal made with Warner Bros., that exchanged of new releases dates for more on-demand content. It’s clear that Netflix is fine letting Blockbuster own the premium release dates, and focusing on its "Watch Now" feature.
I haven't tried the Roku yet. I'm actually ready to jtioestn my FIOS and TiVo and was looking for alternatives.I'm actually leaning towards an AppleTV running boxee. Apparently I can stream Netflix plus other streams including Hulu.

Don't forget that Netflix also is getting a better deal when purchasing physical media from the studios once the 28 days are up, allowing them to not only save money, but also to increase the availability of those movies once they become available.
