Beware the new Facebook password reset scam [CNET News]
Facebook users should keep an eye out for a phishing scam that is currently circulating via email. Computer security firm McAfee warns that many Facebook users are receiving an email that indicates Facebook has reset their password and users should open the attachement on the email. But, the email is a scam and the attachment contains malware designed to steal a user's login credentials to Facebook and other web sites.
McAfee reports that the Facebook phishing scam is currently number six on their list of top malware threats. The good news for users is that the email containing the malware attachement is easy to spot, with poor grammar and the lack of Facebook's standard password reset link that would appear in a legitimate Facebook password reset email.
