AT&T Is an Apple Tablet Dealbreaker [Mashable]
There's been a lot of excitement building about Apple's planned announcement next week of their "latest creation." Most speculation about the announcement centers on rumors about a tablet computer that the company may be releasing.
Online electronics retailer Retrevo asked 500 of their customers what their most wanted features would be and which features would prevent them from buying the hypothetical Apple tablet.
As they say on the old game show, Family Feud, "The survey says!!" --
Second only to long battery life, 40% say 3G is a must. With that in mind, guess what the second highest drag on the product was...
Sorry AT&T. Any exclusive association with the wireless giant's network would be a major drag on sales.
Retrevo's survey indicated that fully one-third of customers would not purchase an Apple tablet if it relied exclusively on AT&T for Internet connectivity. Many reports indicate that Apple iPhone users have been very disappointed in AT&T's network reliability. AT&T is the exclusive wireless provider for the iPhone in the U.S, and it appears that it's reputation among many iPhone users is spilling over to Apple's newest product.
Apple will announce their new product next Wednesday in San Francisco. Can't wait.
