For regular readers of this blog, you all are well aware that I’m an avid sports fan. And here at Insight, I’m certainly not the only one!
That’s why for many years now we’ve been committed to providing the best, most comprehensive sports programming you can find anywhere.
Last month, we announced that Insight would carry all of the UK football and basketball games airing on Fox Sports South in HD in our Louisville, Lexington and Northern Kentucky markets. We worked out this arrangement with FSN South to make the games available as a special event programming option to serve as a temporary measure until we were technically and contractually able to launch the channel full-time.
I’m happy to report today that we’ve been successful in getting that done very quickly and we will be launching Fox Sports South HD on channel 929 on Monday, November 16 – the same day UK plays Miami (Ohio).
Now, not only will our digital customers in Louisville, Lexington, Northern Kentucky and Henderson be able to see the UK games in HD, they will be able to enjoy all of FSN South’s sports programming, including other SEC football and basketball games.
I've received a number of comments and emails from customers in Henderson, KY asking about the UK games too. That market presents us with a whole host of other issues which we are continuing to deal with as I write this. I'll keep you posted.
As I’ve said before, we know better than any of our national competitors what’s important to our customers because so many of us live and work in the communities we serve. There should be no question that Insight is your best choice for home-team sports.
This isn't HD!! Are we going to get these games in HD? ALso, we need the MLB network.

Yo, Michael. Please stop ignoring the fact that these games aren't actually broadcast in HD. Let us know what's going on with that. You've commented on the fact that it isn't in HD, but you keep posting these posts saying that it is. Stop misleading customers.

FYI on the Reds games, Insight has no control over how many of their games are broadcast in HD. Fox Sports simply doesn't broadcast every game in HD. They've been adding more and more to the schedule each year, so all HD games may come eventually.

Thank you, Michael. I don't really care about UK, but I am a Pac-10 fan, so I'm looking forward to seeing those games in HD.

Thank you for continuing to adapt and evolve to meet your customers' programming needs without requiring an additional fee. And i agree that the MLB network would be a great addition.

This is good news. I just hope that Insight will still show all of the Cincinnati Reds games in HD. They always used channel 929 for that. But this is good work. Now if we can just get the MLB Network and The Golf Channel in HD we will be set.
