Online video viewers watching longer on tablets [CNET News]
Online video services provider Ooyala has released data that indicates tablet users spend a significantly longer time watching online video than their counterparts watching on a desktop computer. Ooyala found that for each minute of online video viewed on a desktop, tablet users watched an average of a minute and seventeen seconds - that's a 28 percent increase.
In addition to the longer time spent viewing, viewers that watched videos to the end were 30 percent higher on tablets as opposed to desktop computers.
Long form video tends to be popular on tablets also. Forty-two percent of tablet video viewing was of videos 10 minutes long or longer.
Apple's iPad was, by far, the most popular tablet for video viewing. It accounted for 97.7 percent of total video plays.
