Roku adds more casual games to its streaming box [NewTeeVee]
It's been a big month for Roku. First, the company announced its new line of streaming boxes – the Roku 2. In addition to offering allegedly improved graphics, the Roku 2 XS system features a gaming controller that could be used to play Angry Birds directly on the television screen.
Then came the a round of new funding, providing Roku a significant vote of confidence in the company's strategy.
Roku has responded with a list of new games that can be played on the Roku 2 XS, in the hopes of giving customers even more value, meanwhile adding a few new revenues for the company as well.
The games were developed by gaming company Accedo and feature several classic/casual games, including Texas Hold 'em and Sudoku. The other games that have been added are Dracula's Coffin, Rockswap Adventures, Patience, Kaboom, and Mahjong Fruits.
New games from game developers Rovio and Namco are expected to be coming to the company's broadband-connected set-tops.
