The report shows that over 100 million users listened to Pandora during the second quarter of 2011 for a total of about 1.8 billion hours worth of listening. This signifies a 125 percent bump for Pandora over the same period of 2010, when Pandora only accounted for 2.3% of all radio listening in the U.S.
Pandora also reported that their mobile advertising revenue is now accounting for almost half of all its advertising revenues. The mobile advertising market is very young, but growing quickly and Pandora appears to be at the forefront of it.
In the second quarter, Pandora reported revenue of $67 million, $58.3 million of which came from advertising. That's an overall revenue increase of 117 percent over last year's second quarter.
