I recently wrote about how Best Buy was flooded with unsold HP TouchPads. It now appears the big-box retailer has plenty of Samsung tablets to get rid of as well, as a new policy has been adopted whereby customers will get a free Samsung Android tablet with the purchase of a top-tier HDTV from Samsung.
Unlike the HP story, which ended with HP deciding to completely abandon its tablet operations, this move might not be terrible news for Samsung. At least Best Buy isn't simply asking the manufacturer to take the devices back. Instead, this could potentially get more Android tablets out into the market with the chance they catch on among consumers. There are a lot of people who think iPad is the best tablet in the market, but a free Samsung model could help change that perception.
Customers can buy either the 46-inch or 55-inch Samsung HDTV to get the free tablet. Both TV models have full LED backlighting and 3D technology.
