Amazon Instant hits 100,000 movies, TV shows [CNET News]
Amazon's streaming video service has passed 100,000 titles in its combined a la carte and unlimited streaming options. These 100,000 titles count both television shows and movies, giving Amazon an important talking point as it looks to compete with Netflix's large streaming library.
Recently Amazon announced new deals for television shows from NBC and CBS to add to its streaming service, which is now available on more than 300 different broadband-connected devices.
Amazon offers many titles in HD on an a la carte basis. For Amazon Prime customers, who pay an annual subscription for free shipping from the retailer, another 9,000 titles are availble for unlimited streaming.
