Opening day is next week, baseball fans, and Fox Sports Ohio is now in HD on Channel 930 in our Lexington, Northern Kentucky, Louisville, and Evansville, Indiana markets.
We announced Fox Sports Ohio HD would be coming to Northern Kentucky a couple months ago, along with eight other HD channels that are in the works and will be on the air in that area soon. Based on the comments I've received here, I know there has been some concern over the delay in bringing these channels to our customers, but rest assured we are working to get those channels on the air as soon as possible. And for those of you in other districts, a more expanded HD line-up is on the horizon soon too, and I’ll be sure to let you know of any developments the moment we are ready to announce.
Obviously, if we could, we would provide every HD channel immediately. However, in order for us to provide new HD channels, we first have to have the bandwidth available. Adding HD channels means we need enough bandwidth to transmit the new channels.
One of the best ways for us to obtain more bandwidth is to migrate channels from an analog signal to digital. Analog channels take significantly more bandwidth than digital. Our goal is to migrate our analog channels in a way that is simple and convenient for our customers and to use that newly reclaimed bandwidth to provide more HD channels and other services, like faster broadband speeds. And when we migrate channels, we have plans to help you continue to receive them at little or no additional cost to you.
Again, we’re doing all we can to provide more and more HD for our customers. For now, enjoying rooting on Joey Votto and the Reds in crystal-clear HD.

Michael,
I think it's kinda BS that you announce all these new HD channels 4 months ago, and we still don't have them. Did you announce these channels so all of us unhappy customers will stick around?
I've been trying really hard to give Insight a chance, but you are really lagging behind.
And how long will the 30.0 Internet be "coming soon"? 1 year? 2 years?
Sincerely,
Soon-to-be Satellite Customer

Crystal-clear HD? Had Insight improved HD quality since I jumped ship to satellite?
Soon-to-be Satellite Customer,,
Why wait? Satellite has way more HD channel (better looking too), but right now no one can beat Insight in broadband around here.

I'd be really happy if Insight was compatible with WIndows Media Center.
Why are there SO many different options for local channels 480, 720, 1080 if bandwidth is at a premium?
The current Insight approach just doesn't make sense to me. The supposed advantage to cable is not having to use a box but it's nearly impossible to get digital on Insight without using the STB.
Suggestions: Decrease the number of format options for locals. Increase total number of HD channels. PUBLISH the clearQAM channels so people like me that WANT TO USE INSIGHT can stay with you.

Soon-to-be Satellite Customer,
Make the jump now like Ryan said. I switched to Dish 10 months ago and both my wife and I love it. way more HD channels then we had with Insight and a much, much BETTER DVR. I still have Insight for broadband. They are very good for that. (No I don't work for Dish or own any of their stock).

Tonight, April 7,I called about channel 930 showing a Blue Jackets game instead of the Reds. I got some "excuse" as why that is. I was told that the Reds game was not in HD tonight and that is why they were showing the Blue Jackets game. That is not right because all 145 games that Fox Sports Ohio is broadcasting is in HD. Fox Sports Ohio has two feeds. One is for the Columbus, Cleveland area, and then there is a Cincinnati feed. How hard is it to make sure that the Northern Kentucky, Louisville, Lexington, and Evansville markets get the right feed. We, meaning the customers, should not be treated like we have no idea what is going on.

Matt,
I also called Insight about the April 7th Reds game not being aired in HD. I was also given the runaround by customer service.
I'm really sick of this. First, we were supposed to get the UK games in HD. THAT didn't happen. Now, we're supposed to get the Reds games in HD and THAT'S not happening.
It's one broken promise after another with Insight.
To Ryan and others who asked why I'm waiting to switch to Satellite, it's really just been a matter of convenience. Because I live in a condo, there's a bunch of red tape and a waiting period I have to go through to get approval to put up a dish. In the meantime, Mr. Willner continues to make all of these promises about HD channels and content that never come true. And I'm sick of it.
Sincerely,
Soon-to-be Satellite Customer

Everybody has been hammering this point home already, but it's kind of absurd to still be waiting for the new HD channels over 3 months after they were first announced.
I'm not angry or irate about it, I'm just disappointed. When you announce something like that, I expect you to deliver.
Adding insult to injury, I tried calling earlier this week to get an answer as to when the new HD channels would be added, but the representative didn't even know what I was talking about.
It's also time for new DVR set-top boxes that can hold more HD programming. These old boxes with their 120 GB and 160 GB drives are obsolete. Given that these things cost an inexplicable $15.95/month each, I think Insight could do a little better.
Come on, Insight! Do your job. I try to remain positive but you make it really difficult sometimes.

No HD for the Reds game in the Evansville Market on April 9th. Channel 930 doesn't show anything at all. When you tune to it, the picture from the previous channel you were on just freezes. This has happened in the past on "Special Events HD" broadcasts when the Cardinals games should have been playing but didn't. I swear, it's like someone just forgets to push the button to turn it on. Hopefully, now that FS Midwest has its own dedicated channel this won't happen to the Cards games (at least the ones we see, we're being forced to watch a Pacers game tonight instead of the Cards game, the HD channel is even broadcasting the Pacers game even though its only in SD).
