205,000 in Louisville without power [Louisville Courier-Journal]
Our crews continue to work around the clock to restore service that has been impacted by the ice storm. The full extent of those without electrical power has risen to 200,000 in Louisville alone, with additional thousands affected in other parts of Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Kentucky's Public Service Commission is calling the outages the second worst next to the outages we had in the fall due to Hurricane Ike. We're in emergency operating mode, with our call center operators and crews working 24/7 to restore service to our customers.
The treacherous conditions of roads in many places have placed an added obstacle to the work. We're also focused on the fact that the Super Bowl is four days away, so restoring cable television for the game is as high a priority for us as it is for our customers. Of course, we're dependent to some degree on how quickly the electric utilities restore power connections, so please be patient with us as power company crews tirelessly fix downed electric lines.

Thanx goes out to all the telecom, power, and cable TV technicians working to get the services back up and running!!
