Insight's crews continue to work 24/7 to restore service to the thousands of customers in our footprint that have lost service due to the ice storm. As I noted in yesterday's update, one of the issues that Insight faces in restoring cable, broadband Internet and phone service is the record number of customers who have lost electric power. In Kentucky alone, over 607,000 households have lost electricity. E-ON US has posted some helpful information about the number of outages in the Kentucky counties that they serve, along with a detailed map of outages in Louisville.
Many of Insight's outages will be cleared up once power has been restored. Other issues will be easier to diagnose and repair once power comes back.
Insight crews will continue to work through the weekend to restore service to customers. Our employees - from telephone operators to crews in the field - have worked tirelessly during this emergency situation to take customer calls and fix downed lines. Thanks to them and for your patience as we work to get each customer reconnected to service.
