Why I'm doing this

It's conventional wisdom. When it comes to communicating with the public, most companies take the safest path. They usually play their cards pretty close to their chest. I'm joining the blogsosphere to challenge that "wisdom."

Leaders in Learning Awards and then on to our first Insight DTV forum in LaGrange, KY

Short post today as I am traveling to Washington for Cable in the Classroom's Leaders in Learning Awards Gala.  I get to present one of the awards to one of our very own customers, Diane Downs of the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, a music education and community-building program that seeks to educate 7-to12-year-olds.  Congratulations Diane!  I'll see you in DC!

Then, it's on to Louisville for our first Digital Transition Forum for our customers in LaGrange, KY.  It will be held on Thursday night.

If you, a member of your family or a friend have questions about the nation's broadcast television digital transition, I'd like to invite you to the forum. It will be held Thursday, June 19 at 7:00pm at the John W. Black Community Center at 1551 N. Highway 393 in LaGrange.

I'll personally be hosting the forum, and I'm looking forward to fielding your questions about digital television (with the able assistance of some key Insight employees). Refreshments will be provided.  I've been a spokesman for the cable industry and helped to shape the policies cable operators have adopted to eliminate the potential disruption to older TV's that are hooked up to cable after the transition.

So, if you live in the Oldham County area, please join me on Thursday night with you questions about digital television. I look forward to seeing you there.  For those of you who live in other communities we serve, we plan to hold additional forums through the time of the transition in February, 2009.
